Pam always said that she had a magical life. From a 30+ year career in nursing and administration at UNM Hospital, to working as CEO for Value Options, a behavioral health provider for New Mexico, to working for the Legislative Finance Committee in Santa Fe, she was in the right place at the right time and she was always willing to give all of herself to every endeavor.
The Pamela M. Galbraith foundation was founded 2017 by Pam’s husband, Jerry R. Vigil, and her daughters, Jacqueline Ortiz and Dr. Jennifer Vigil-Smith. It exists to continue her legacy of service and help to the people of New Mexico by providing mental health support through UNM Children’s Psychiatric Center, grief support, physical and financial resources for children in traumatic situations through the Children’s Grief Center of New Mexico, emergency trauma care through UNM Hospital’s Emergency and Trauma Care and educational support through scholarships for medical students in Cheboygan, Michigan, her hometown.
Pam’s magical life was made possible because of the people of New Mexico and Michigan and the Pamela M. Galbraith Memorial Foundation will continue her work.
